Jay and Michael Lee grew up in a countryside village, where resources were scarce but dreams had no limits. At just 17, Jay entered the world of car seat covers, beginning as an apprentice. He dedicated his days to mastering craftsmanship and spent his nights studying design, driven by a vision of creating seat covers that were snug-fitting, safe, comfortable, and family-friendly.
By age 25, as a father of two, Jay became increasingly aware that many seat covers on the market were poorly made—loose-fitting, easily damaged, and often made from unpleasant-smelling or potentially harmful materials. Recognizing the risks these posed to his loved ones, especially children, he set out on a mission to design seat covers that would genuinely protect and serve families.
Soon after, his younger brother Michael graduated from college and joined him, sharing the same commitment. Together, equipped only with a few sewing machines, basic tools, and deep love for family, they took the first step toward building what would become the EKR brand.
Their goal wasn’t limited to protecting their own families—it was much bigger. They envisioned a world where, "anywhere there’s a car, there’s an EKR seat cover." Their mission was clear: bring safer, more comfortable driving experiences to millions of families worldwide. They believed that through genuine dedication to quality and care, they could make the world a little better—one seat at a time.
